Our Members Are Full of PEP!
PEP members are involved in many community events, including Special Olympics bocce, bowling, cheerleading, mime, puppeteers, bell chimes choir, and other programs. Look for us to be performing on stage during many of the upcoming local holiday activities! You just may see our Special Olympics bocce team out practicing on our new bocce court next time you come by. (Thanks to the Italian-American Club of Hilton Head for construction of the court as well as to Mayor Peeples for dedicating it for us!)
PEP FALL GALA on October 16th
SAVE THE DATE and make plans to attend and bring a friend to the PEP Fall Gala on Saturday, October 16, at Indigo Hall in the Indigo Run Plantation. We'll have a silent auction, live music, great Italian buffet, and an awesome live auction!
We need your help in securing some nice auction items for our live and silent auctions. Suggested items include: dinner/service certificates, vacation stays, jewelry, art work, guided fishing trips, hunting trips...the sky is the limit. Please consider helping us secure some of these items.
Please contact Harold Watson, Executive Director, at 843-681-8413 or via email: harold.watson@pephhi.org as soon as possible if you are willing to help. Please help PEP provide needed and meaningful services for adults with special needs in southern Beaufort County.
Knights of Columbus and PEP Members PicnicOn May 5th, 2010, the Thomas D. Reilley, Sr. Council 10668 of the Knights of Columbus held their annual Picnic with PEP at Jarvis Creek Park on Hilton Head Island. PEP Members and their families mingled with the Knights and their ladies while they enjoyed a great picnic dinner. Knight Carey Basciano of Street Meet cooked the burgers and hot dogs. The salads and desserts were brought by the K of C Council families and the families of the PEP clients. Everyone had a fun afternoon as we were able to get in some games and a tug-of-war!

FIRST ANNUAL PEP OYSTER ROAST
On Saturday, April 17, Programs for Exceptional People (PEP) held its first annual All-You-Can-Eat Oyster Roast fund raiser. Hundreds of people took part in this last fresh oyster roast of the season.
The oysters were served up by the Bluffton Oyster Company at their location on Wharf Street in Old Bluffton. Live music was supplied by The Islandeers, who performed a mix of classic rock, country and blues.
Thanks to all who joined us for a pleasant evening and enjoyed tasty fresh oysters, good music and helped to support our special folks at PEP!
