Celebrate with us as PEP marks 25 years of enhancing the lives of special needs adults!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Online Auction and helped make it a success!  Due to COVID-19, a live event will be postponed until the spring.

Visit our Ceramics Store

Due to COVID we have not been able to go out to the community as much as we used to. However, we've had the opportunity to make beautiful ceramic pieces for our store front at 39 Sheridan Park Circle, Suite 2 and also for some charitable organizations using them for events!  If you would like holiday ornaments or anything special made, please contact us!

Your support has always been important, and even more so now. PEP is partially supported by the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs based on attendance. Until PEP is fully operational, we have to supplement other income to maintain PEP's staff and building. We are thankful and appreciative of your continued support during this unprecedented time!

"Promoting independence, social interaction, and employment opportunities for adults who live with intellectual disabilities."

Programs for Exceptional People (PEP) has been serving the Lowcountry for 25 years. As a licensed 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, our mission is to promote independence, social interaction and employment opportunities for adults who live with intellectual disabilities.

PEP is a licensed adult activity center serving adults with intellectual disabilities within Beaufort and Jasper Counties.

Our programs include contracted work opportunities within the local community for members to learn and develop skills under the instruction of trained staff vocational instructors. We also have two micro-businesses operated by members and trained staff: PEP Ceramics and PEP Lawn Care.

Our on-site vocational training includes cooking, reading, computer lab, exercise, safety, and hygiene.

PEP members can be seen out and about in the communities of Bluffton and Hilton Head Island. Pre-COVID we took frequent trips to the parks and bowling at Station 300. Our members are active in Special Olympics, cheer, bowling, track and field, tennis and basketball.

We hope to be back at the Bluffton Farmers Market soon!  In the meantime, come see  member made pottery pieces as well as a variety of crafts in our storefront store at 39 Sheridan Park Circle, Suite 2, Bluffton.

If you would like to learn more about PEP for a loved one, please contact us to see how PEP can help them thrive through our programs and services!
